The agMOOCs Consortium, initiated and supported by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) will be offering two Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) starting from Feb. 20.

COL’s Communications Manager, Mr Obinna Okwelume, in a statement on Friday in Abuja, said that the courses, ‘Fundamentals of Agricultural Extension’ and ‘Integrated Disease Management,’ were available to learners anywhere in the world at no cost.

He said that in the agMOOCs Consortium, no prior learning in the subjects was required for learners.

Okwelume said that the MOOCs were offered at the level of a course in an undergraduate programme.

Since 2015, the agMOOCs Consortium has offered a total of 16 MOOCs covering about 27,000 learners from over 100 countries.

About 5,600 learners have received certificates of participation or competency.

Learners interested in participating in these MOOCs are invited to register at: www.agmoocs.in

COL is an intergovernmental organisation created by Commonwealth Heads of Government to promote the development and sharing of open learning and distance education knowledge, resources and technologies.
