The Mark Sports Foundation (MSF), promoters of the annual Mark‘d’Ball basketball tournament, have kick started activities towards a successful hosting of this year’s sports- meets-entertainment fiesta scheduled to hold between Dec. 26 to Dec. 31 in Otukpo, Benue State.
Comrade James Oche, Media Coordinator of Mark‘d’Ball said the event which often features male and female basketball teams from Nigeria and other West African countries would see 300 young children participate in a Kiddies coaching clinic.
Oche told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that popular artists including Tecno, Tuface Idibia and patoranking would perform live at the event sponsored by a former Senate President, David Mark.
“This year’s edition promises to be bigger and better than previous editions; more musical and comedy acts have been lined up to thrill spectators.
“The week long tournament will feature top artistes, actors, actresses, comedians and celebrities.
“To promote attendance for this star studded event, the organisers have kick started promotional and sensitisation activities towards a successful hosting of the event.
“Top among the activities is the successful hosting of Mark ‘d’Ball web portal (www.markdball.org) on Nov. 12, for information and promotion of the event.
“The rejigged and reenergised portal filters all mark ‘d’ ball events in the past 15 years into a single online interface of news, images, videos, podcasts, live streams and social media feed,’’ Oche said.
He noted that celebrities, popular Nigerian musicians like Tuface Idibia and Terry G who have graced or associated with the tournament in the past would make part of the features on the website.
It would be recalled that NAN won the maiden edition of Mark `d’ ball Media Award after emerging as the `Best Media Outfit’ at the 2015 edition.
NAN grabbed the awards for best photos and news.
