No fewer than ten top Nigerian musicians and comedians are expected at the 2016 Mark ‘d’ Ball Basketball competition scheduled to take place in Otukpo, Benue State between Dec. 26 and Dec. 31.

Igoche Mark, the Executive Director, Mark Sports Foundation who said this in a chat with newsmen in Abuja, listed the artistes to include 2Face, Ice Prince, MI, Rekaado Banks, Solid Star, YCee, Natasha Real, Addiction, Dan Hausawa, Terry Da RapMan, Pepenazi, Koker, Orezi and Rayce.

Others are Terry G, African China and Chris Morgan, while DJ TTB of MTV Base is expected to anchor the event.

Mark revealed that this year’s edition would surpass previous editions going by the calibre of comedians for the event among whom are Akpororo, KennyBlaq, Aboki for Christ, Ambassador Wahala, Laughing Gas, MC Miracle, Comedian Adviser and many others

“Mark Sports Foundation (MSF), promoters of the annual Mark‘d’Ball Basketball tournament, have kick started activities towards a successful hosting of this year’s event.

“This annual event which often features male and female basketball teams drawn from Benue State, and other states in the country Nigeria and some West African countries will also incorporate a Kiddies coaching clinic,” Mark said.

Mark who is the initiator of the fiesta said that U.S. college basketball team would be unveiled at the venue of the event while 1,000 kids are expected to participate in a coaching clinic programme of the event.

He said: “selected talents will be given scholarships up to university level.

“Top International basketball players expected at  the 2016 event include Ejike Ugboaja, Osita Nwachukwu, Sam Oguche, John Allagh, Tunji Owojobi, Audu Mark, Stanley Gumot, Ogoh Odaudu and many others.

“Teams that will participate in this year’s event include the male defending Champions, Blame It On Experience, ASPAC of Cotonou, Benue Braves, Apa Flames, Veterans of Abuja among others.

“The female teams include the Sweeties of Makurdi, Pearls Of Lagos, Apa Queens, First Deepwaters of Lagos, FCT Angels just to mention but a few.

The Media Coordinator of this event, Comrade James Oche also hinted that a community social responsibility event has been earmarked to go side by side with the tournament as the wife of the initiator, would be visiting a chosen orphanage to celebrate the festivities with the kids and underprivileged children.

The coordinator also enjoined the Benue faithful not to miss out as this year’s event promises to be an even more star studded event and serene family relaxation rendezvous.

He said there would be live streaming of the event on the website for this year’s fiesta for friends and followers living in the Diaspora and in other far flung locations round the country.
