Nigeria’s Super Falcons won the opening match of the AWCON 2016, beating Mali 6-0.

The match at Stade de Limbe in Cameroon saw the Nigerians  in merciless form.

Ordega opened scoring in the 21st minute. From then on the goal gate appeared to have been left ajar.

Asisat Oshoala doubled the Nigerian lead on 40th minute. The Arsenal lady was to record three more goals, after Uchechi Sunday netted a penalty two minutes after hostilities resumed in the second half.

Oshoala recorded her second goal of the day in the 63rd minute, after she  raced past Mali defenders and then rounded off the goalkeeper to make it 4-0 for Nigeria.

Five minutes after, the Nigerian striker was on song again, with another goal to complete a hat trick. Her fourth goal of the day came in the 77th minute.

More later.
