The remains of Hajiya Halima Dauda, a niece of President Muhammadu Buhari were buried on Saturday in Daura.
News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN ) correspondent reports that the body arrived in Daura in the early hours from London where she died on Thursday after a brief illness.
Malam Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to the President, led a federal government’s delegation to the burial.
On the delegation were the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, EFCC Chairman Ibrahim Magu and Minister of Aviation, Sen Hadi Sirika, among others.
Also at the funeral was the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar, and his counterparts from Kance and Murya in Nigeria Republic.
The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Daura, Malam Salisu Rabe at the emir’s palace.
The deceased , who died at 56, was survived by seven children including Alhaji Sabiu Yusuf, the Personal Assistant to the President.
Malam Usman Dauda, the younger brother of the deceased, described her as a bridge builder who promoted unity and brotherhood in the family
