Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of the north western Nigerian state of Kano has sacked the Accountant General, Danjuma Adamu-Mahmud with immediate effect.
The commissioner of Information, Malam Muhammad Garba made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano on Monday.
Though no reason was given for the action, Garba said Ganduje ordered Adamu Mahmud to vacate the office immediately.
Ganduje, according to Garba also asked the former Accountant General to hand over the office to the Director of Treasury in the Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Ibrahim Kura, being the most senior.
Garba said that the governor commended Adamu-Mahmud for his services to the state during his tenure and wished him well in his future endeavours.
