The abductors of Margaret Emefiele, the wife of Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), have demanded a ransom of N100 million.
Reports said the demand was made shortly after the kidnap of Margaret on Thursday, along the Benin-Agbor Road.
An online news portal said the kidnappers have gotten in touch with Godwin Emefiele.
Four other women and a driver were kidnapped along with Mrs. Emefiele.
The Eagle Online quoted a top police officer in the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris as saying that the kidnappers have vowed not to release their victim until the ransom is paid.
IGP Idris has deployed the crack Intelligence Response Team under his office and other top detectives within the Force to rescue Margaret unhurt and without paying any ransom.
