Republican Candidate for the US Presidential Election, Donald Trump, has apologised to Americans saying that he had said and done many things in the past which he now regrets.
His recent apology is coming in reaction to a recently released video tape of Trump in 2005 making derogatory and obscene comments about women.
He said: “I’ve said and done things I regret,” he said. “Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong, and I apologise.
“I’ve never said I’m a perfect person nor pretended to be someone I’m not. I pledge to be a better man tomorrow.”
He said that “these words don’t reflect who I am… I apologise”.
In the video, he said “you can do anything” to women “when you’re a star”. Also bragged about trying to grope and kiss women.
Trump has received wide condemnation for the video: Top Republicans condemned the comments while his rival in the election, Hillart Clinton described it as “horrific”.
“We cannot allow this man to become president,” she said on her twitter handle,
