===President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the `’Not Too Young To Run’ bill into Law.

The bill was passed by the National Assembly in July 2017 to alter Sections 65, 106, 131, 177 of the Constitution to reduce the age qualification for president from 40 to 30; House of Representatives membership from 30 to 25 and State House of Assembly membership from 30 to 25.

The bill however maintained the age qualification of 35 years for those wishing to contest for the positions of Senator and Governor.

====The International Committee of the Red Cross says it will partner with the Nigerian Police Force to evaluate how the legal system is handling pre-trial of detainees and deliver prompt legal services to arrested and detained persons in police formations in Nigeria.

ICRC’s Communication Officer, Mr Eleojo Akpa, said the collaboration would examine the progress of the Police Duty Solicitor Scheme launched by the Nigerian Police Force in September 2017.

====Michika Local Government Council workers in Adamawa State have resumed work for the first time in four years, after insurgents razed their former secretariat.

The excited workers trooped to work in the council’s newly completed secretariat complex funded by Victim Support Fund, a programme-based organisation that supports victims of insurgency in Nigeria.

=====The United States says it is set to impose 25 per cent tariff on Steel and 10 per cent aluminium products from the EU, Canada and Mexico.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, said the new tariffs would take effect on 1st of June.

=====Zinedine Zidane has quit Real Madrid as head coach, less than one week after leading the club to their third successive European Champions League glory.

Zidane, nicknamed “Zizou” announced his departure in a surprise press conference at Real Madrid’s training ground.

The 45-year-old coach leaves Real Madrid as one of the club’s most successful managers having won three Champions Leagues, two FIFA Club World trophies and one La Liga title.
